Sad News
We are very sad to have to report that Cat Liath, the Grey Cat of Auchindrain – our beloved Catty-Cat – has left us and gone to join the twinkly lights across the burn. It was all very quick and unexpected, but there was nothing to be done with inoperable kidney cancer. He was just ten years old.
Catty-Cat came to Auchindrain in 2014, having been found abandoned on the streets of Motherwell. He quickly settled into his new forever home, and for the last eight years has enchanted thousands of visitors. He was a special friend to everyone, and a steadfast companion to the staff during the long winter nights. He has been taken from us far too soon. Each of us will cherish his memory, but here are some photographs to help us all remember.
If you were lucky enough to meet Catty-Cat on your visit to Auchindrain and perhaps even to have experienced him giving you a guided tour of the museum, and would like to celebrate his memory, please click the “Donate” button and mark your donation “For Catty-Cat”. We will then pass on everyone’s donations to the Cat Action Trust (Lanark & Central Branch) from whom Catty-Cat came to us in 2014.
